A Forest for Every Classroom
Missoula and Lower Clark Fork Region, MT • Spring 2012

The successful Forest for Every Classroom program is coming to Missoula and the Lower Clark Fork Region of Western Montana this spring. This dynamic professional development program for teachers works to get classrooms outdoors for learning. Find out more about how you can get involved here.

 

Everest Education Expedition

Montana State University and the Montana NSF EPSCoR are providing 10 Montana teachers with a classroom kit full of scientific equipment that correlates to an actual Spring 2012 Everest Expedition. Kits will allow classrooms to mirror the research of the expedition team, whose field geologist is MSU professor Dave Lageson. Teachers in grades 4-8 are eligible to apply for a kit. Additional Everest Education Expedition resources, including lesson plans and live updates from Everest, are also available. Deadline February 6, 2012. Tom Pedersen Recieves Montana's 2012 Teacher of the Year Award

Tom Pedersen, who served as MEEA's Region 8 Director and Vice President for 6 years will be honored at the MEA-MFT Educator's Conference, Montana Teacher of the Year Celebration. Tom is being recognized for his dedication to his students and fellow teachers. He has made great efforts to provide unique learning experiences that truly engage his students in learning. He has also worked in support of the improvement of professional development opportunities for teachers. Congratulations Tom! The regognition is well deserved!
